1Holocaust in Rwanda is now Available as an E-Book

Twenty two years ago, 6 April 1994, one of the most dreadful campaigns of mass murder was unleashed upon the Tutsi people of Rwanda. In just 100 days, more people had been slaughtered with machetes and clubs than have died from atomic weapons in all of history.

Convenient Timing

At the time, world media attention was focused on South Africa's first "One Man, One Vote" elections. When the genocide was launched on 6 April 1994, most African correspondents were in South Africa covering the elections. The MRND government in Rwanda meticulously organised the genocide. The French trained Presidential Guard, the army, the gendarmes and civil administrators were mobilised to slaughter the Tutsi minority.

Communist Chaos on Campus

On Tuesday evening, my d12698606 1066579356719299 5332793577498308200 oaughter was attending a ballroom dancing event on the campus of the University of Cape Town.  As she attempted to walk up the stairs to Jameson Hall mobs barred her way and threatened her.  Their curses and hostility were directed at anyone who was White.  Vile graffiti desecrated the memorial to students who had died in the First World War and students were chanting that all Whites must be killed.
Disrupting Traffic

A shack was built across the middle of on
e of the most important roads on the university campus, disrupting traffic.  Rubbish bins were being burnt.

"Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?" Psalm 85:6

17What is Revival?

Revivals are a sovereign move of God initiated by the Holy Spirit working through consecrated men and women. “Revivals are not churches filled with people, but people filled with God.”

In the book of Acts, it was said that these Christians who have turned the world upside down have come here also (Acts 17:6). In fact, Revivals turn things right side up: Restored relationships. Transformed communities. Drunkards made sober. Thieves returning stolen goods. Blasphemers sanctified. Marriages healed. Estranged children and parents reconciled. The selfish becoming sacrificial. Conversions. Miracles. Healings. Revived churches. Revitalised prayer meetings. Dynamic worship. Decisive action to seek first the Kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33).

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:58

Mountain Marathons

As Christians we are called to be long distance mountain marathon runners – not just short distance sprinters. Just as an athlete needs to build up their muscles and aerobic fitness, developing the strength and stamina for the endurance needed, so we need to stretch our faith, our devotion, our obedience and skills. Christians need to stretch minds and muscles, escape from comfort zones and persevere – keep on keeping on – fighting the good fight of Faith. "Holding fast the Word of life, so that I may rejoice in the Day of Christ that I have not run in vain or laboured in vain." Philippians 2:16

"You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt." Exodus 22:21

"They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against Me. For if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you." Exodus 23:33

What are the facts and forces behind the refugee crisis? What does the future hold? How should we as Christians respond?

The main thing is to keep the main the main thing. Our greatest priority on earth is to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love our neighbour as ourself. We are to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). The Great Commission must be our supreme ambition. "All authority has been given to Me in Heaven and on earth. Go therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…" Matthew 28:18-20. Christ's last Command must be our first concern.
